CAPONE IN ALCATRAZ
When Capone got transferred to alcatraz in august, 1934, He quickly kerned in his few months there that he would get absolutely no special privileges from anyone, no matter how much he tried. the warden, Mr. Johnson was an honest man, and would let someone like al Capone get away with trickery or bribes.
Alcatraz made Capone feel like he was weak for the first time. he was unable to get his way, and was forced to abide by the rules after many attempts to con Mr. Johnston, he said "It looks like Alcatraz has got me licked." in 1938, al began to show signs of syphilis. at this time, he was transferred to the hospital ward in Alcatraz. he stayed there until he was released completely in 1939. when Al finished his time in prison, he went back to his mansion in palm beach, where he spent the rest of his life. he passed away on January 25, 1947, due to the syphilis that he had had for over 30 years. |
